I want start off by saying thank you to everyone who came out to our grand opening on April 8th! The day went off without a hitch.. we had raffles, pull up contests and tons of stuff on sale all day. We’ve been in this location since early March and from day 1 the response and support in the city has been nothing short of great. The shop is just about done but we will always be adding more flavor to it as we continue to grow.
When the discussion of opening a shop came up there was obviously a lot to think about in terms of how we would make it work (location, build out budget, design, inventory etc..). Ultimately our goal was to make a small place that reminded us of all the skate shops we had spent so much time in growing up. Skate shops were always a fun place to hang out, shop around, and talk with other skaters about the thing we loved the most (skating). I thought it would be awesome to have a place like that for the fitness crowd, in addition to our own brand we would carry a bunch of accessories and hard to find items that people who are into this stuff would really appreciate.
Within a few months we found the perfect little storefront in a great location right in our hometown New Bedford, MA. We took another couple of months to build the space out and fill it up but the end result was exactly what I had hoped for. The feel of this shop reflects our style 100% and we’ve already gotten so many compliments on how relaxed it is in here. Right now you can find me in here Tues-Sat 10-6 but as the summer rolls around we will be opening up on Sundays and have a few guys taking care of the shop on the weekends while I head out on the road to set up at events and spread the word.
Thank you all again for dropping by and if you haven’t had a chance to stop in yet, don’t be a stranger!
